Famagusta Association of Great Britain .. TAKIS YIAPANIS IS NOT WITH US ANY MORE

The Famagusta Association of Great Britain is poorer today after the sudden loss of TAKIS YIAPANIS one of our active members of the executive committee. Our condolences to Chrysanthi Yiapanis and her family . Now he is liberated of his earthly body, he will become a guardian of our City until we return....R.I.P. Both Takis and Chrysanthi Yiapanis have been long standing active executive members of our Associasion. the funeral will take place on Wednesday 8th July at St. Ekaterini's church Whetstone

The photo exhibition of the occupied Famagusta at the Hellenic Centre in London - Wednesday 2nd April 2014

The Famagusta Association UK has the honour to invite you,

To the photo exhibition for the occupied Famagusta. The program for the event includes greeting from the President of our Association Dr. Vassilis Mavrou and speech by the Mayor of our city Mr. Alexis Galanos. There will also be a screening of a short film.    

The end of the screening will be followed by a reception. The exhibition will be held on 2 April 2014 at the Hellenic Centre (16-18 Paddington Street, London W1U 5AS) at 7:00 pm.

Your presence will be highly appreciated, and will strengthen our efforts for the return of our city and its harbour to its rightful inhabitants under the legitimate government of Cyprus.

INVITATION
The Famagusta Association of Great Britain would like to invite you to a special event in honour of the Mayor of Famagusta, Mr. Alexis Galanos, who will be on an official visit to London as from 1st April. The event will take place on  Friday 4th April and will include the following:

·        An introductory speech on our campaign to return Famagusta back to its lawful inhabitants, by the President of our Association, Dr. Vassilis Mavrou.

·        A speech by Mr. Alexis Galanos. You will have the opportunity to discuss with our Mayor the current developments regarding our town.

·        Songs by the Michaeloudi’s Choir (EKA) about Famagusta, written by Mr. Nikos Savvides. Other artists featured during the evening will be giving poetry recitals and performing live songs.

Refreshments, snacks and drinks will be offered.
The event will take place on Friday  4 April 2014  at 7pm
at the Community Centre, Earlham Grove - Wood Green - London N22

At the end of the event there will be a traditional Cypriot buffet available, at the price of £ 20 per person. If you would like to stay behind for the buffet, please pre-book your place by calling or texting Andreas Louca on  07742 648 737 or by email to Info@famagusta.org.uk

FORTHCOMING EVENTS ON FAMAGUSTA - 1st, 2nd and 4th April 2014


Dear Members and friends of the Famagusta Association of Great Britain,
 
The Mayor of Famagusta, Mr Alexis Galanos, will be in London from the 1st to the 5th April on an Official visit.

We would like to invite you to three events that we are organizing in his honour, as follows:
 
1) Tuesday 1st April 2014, at 6pm: Seminar at the House of Commons, Westminster

2) Wednesday 2nd April, at 7pm : Photo Exhibition on Famagusta at The Hellenic Centre, W1

3) Friday 4th April at 7pm: Cultural and entertainment event at the Cypriot Community Centre Kinotiko, Wood Green
